Car Games

More of a long highway adventure kind of thing, car games have been keeping kids sane since well before the dawn of the new millennium.

Alphabet game:
For the alphabet game you have to find letters on road signs and license plates from A-Z. There's a rendition for this game in the move Never Been Thawed that makes roadkill a wild card.

I spy:
Everyone knows how to play this game, but you can check out variants of it at wikipedia.org/wiki/I_spy.

Punch buggy:
Spot a Volkswagon Beetle and punch someone before anyone else punches you. You must call out the colour of the car. More at wikipedia.org/wiki/Punch_Buggy.

My red car:
This is a game where participants collect vehicles by claiming them as their own. The object is simply to collect the most interesting or desirable vehicles. If someone sees, for example, a red Ferrari they call out "my red car!". Others may intercept, however, by being more specific about the car by saying "my red Ferrari!", or even "my red Ferrari Testarossa!"

Beer me:
A variant of Padiddle where participants touch the ceiling of the vehicle and say "beer me!" when a car with only one headlight on is seen. Each "beer me" is worth one beer. If a car is seen with both headlights out, "six pack" is called, worth six beers. A semi with only one headlight is a "twelve pack" and a semi with no lights on is a "two four."
